The annual Pipeline construction skills training for trade apprentices started October 17, 2011 in Fairbanks at the Pipeline Training Center. More than 80 Alaska apprentices recruited from the pipeline trades will particiapte in the two week course and demonstrate their skills building sections of a large diameter (24”) pipeline.
The trade apprentices are pipe welders, pipeline laborers, equipment operators, truck drivers and surveyors. The apprentices receive occupational safety and health training along with hands-on training. This training gives participants valuable experience as they prepare to work on Alaska’s North Slope oil pipelines.
